I was in a bit of a rush tonight so I didn't intend stopping, pulling my gloves off and getting the iPhone out of its waterproof case.
When I saw the sky colouring I couldn't really miss it.
Not the most amazing bit of scenery but I didn't want to risk cycling off to find a better spot and missing the light.

Uphill Lime Kiln

This kiln is at the end of the boatyard, just before the gate leading further down the coast. Uphill sits on a limestone hill, line processed here would have been important to sweeten the Somerset soil.
Uphill have a pretty informative website, it's a lovely little village.

The Savoy

The Savoy Hotel on the seafront in Weston-super-Mare. Quite close to the Marine Lake the hotel looked great in the evening sun as I rode past it yesterday.

Yatton Train Station

The waiting room at Yatton Station. Closed for as long as I have been using the station (if I feel like wimping out of my 20 mile commute I can jump on the train at Yatton and save 10 miles).
The waiting room is earmarked to be the cafe serving the Strawberry Line, they have just announced that they have secured funding. Great news, can't wait to see, and use, the new facilities.

Birnbeck Pier June 21st

Detoured from my normal route home so i could ride the coast road. i love the smell of the sea blowing up from the rocks.
As i stopped to take this photo an old man asked if this was the pier that burned down, you'd think it was from looking at it. i really hope someone gets a grip and saves it from falling into the sea.
